Membership keeps you connected to the latest legislative news through the TFA website’s Advocacy Alert system. Our Legislative Action Center makes it easy for you to contact your elected officials about issues that are important to you and your community.

Act for Art in Texas! Texans for the Arts works to mobilize communities throughout the state to join forces to achieve the goal of securing more arts funding to keep the arts alive in Texas.


At a time when every newscast opens with a war or campaign report, your membership support is more important than ever. We know that art uniquely blends cultures and brings healing, enlightenment and inspiration to Texans everyday. But legislative turnover and many demands on available funds mean that our stories must be told and re-told.

Membership is just the first step. We ask that you continue to speak out to local officials and legislators about the importance of art to you, your children and your community. Make an effort to meet each of them. Tell them that art is essential to you, their constituent and that there are many others standing with you. Ask them to act for art by working to increase the state arts appropriation. Texans for the Arts provides tools to make this job easier through our website and email advocacy alerts, but the real work takes place in your community when you speak with your elected officials personally.
