What is Texans for the Arts?

Texans for the Arts is a grass-roots 501c4 non-profit organization incorporated in Texas to advocate for the Arts by supporting the programs and services of the Texas Commission on the Arts. Texans for the Arts represents individual and organizational members statewide. Contributions are not deductible unless deemed a business expense.

The Mission of Texans for the Arts:
To advance the development of arts and culture in the State of Texas through a forum for public policy and planning. To promote a program of coordinated information and advocacy in a unified effort to increase public funding for the arts.

Goals:
Texans for the Arts seeks to achieve its mission by:

• Supporting legislation increasing funding for the arts;
• Providing statewide dialogue and education regarding arts public policy and planning;
• Providing advocacy coordination services to a statewide base of membership;
