Dr. Quantz is a nationally recognized and leading advocate for guitar education. He is the creator/director of the Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Festival and Competition which is the only national guitar ensemble competition and one of the largest classical guitar events in the US.  He served for seven years as the Director of Education for the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA).  In addition he was the creator and director of the GFA’s International Youth Competition (5 years) and Guitar Ensemble Showcase (5 years).  His ensemble program at the University of Texas at Brownsville is unsurpassed in musicianship and accomplishment.
