Strategic Communications and Marketing Manager
Texans for the Arts

Molly Margaret Sydnor (b. 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist and community leader based in Dallas, Texas (since 2015). Native to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she received a BFA in Fiber from The Maryland Institute College of Art and spent seven years as a product developer specializing in rugs. Molly transitioned to non-profit work in 2021.
Molly's artwork is centered around storytelling and the layering of media, ideas, and imagery of identity and the body. Molly's self-identity as a biracial, queer identifying woman heavily influences her work. Her exploration of the complexities of gender, race, and sexuality is grounded in experimentation, innovation, and play. She strives to elevate the creative and cultural landscape through the design and implementation of thought-provoking, interactive installations that educate and inspire communities. Her installations have been exhibited at Future Front during Austin Studio Tour, the Sweet Tooth Hotel, UTSouthwestern, and The Joule Hotel just to name a few. She will spend this summer at The Line Hotel Austin for her residency awarded by Big Medium, and has an upcoming installation with the AHA School in Telluride CO.

Molly serves as the Marketing and Digital Engagement Manager at The Nasher Sculpture Center. Additionally, she cultivates a vibrant community and fosters a sense of belonging as the co-founder and leader of Local Queer, an organization that prioritizes events and safe spaces for queer women, and Trans and non-binary individuals. She advocates for and empowers individuals with disabilities through innovative marketing strategies and initiatives, and is a passionate advocate for underprivileged youth of South Dallas. Molly empowers people to affect positive change through the use of art as a medium for activism and self-expression. She is a thought-leader in DEIBA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Accessibility) and strives for inclusive creativity that ignites innovation.

Outside of her work, Molly is dedicated to her physical health and reaching peak performance through rigorous Crossfit training and poor attempts at gymnastics. She is fueled by empathy and a deep sense of gratitude for her creativity and drive, always seeking opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals and make a real difference.
